NEET releases music in the Ogg Vorbis format only. This is because the format–at the same time as being Free and open source–performs very well at low to high bitrates, and is supported by every proper audio player. The AoTuV tuned Vorbis encoder is used, because it produces better quality files than the official Xiph.org encoder.

Unless some insane new format appears soon, we'll keep using Ogg Vorbis.

Why do we bother using Ogg Vorbis, when the files won't play on your iPod? They just might do with Rockbox. Also; here is a large list of portable audio players that support Ogg Vorbis.

It is important to keep the music's metadata at a high level, in order to maintain a large collection of music. For this reason, we put a lot of work into tagging every single file correctly. Also, we do not romanise anything, in order to retain the original feeling which the artists wished to achieve. Often kanji, hiragana and katakana are used special ways to add other meanings, and as an example, ワスレナゴハン and 忘れなご飯 are in no way the same thing!

We can't reseed our torrents, because our group unfortunately doesn't have the capacity to do so. When given the choice of releasing a lot and seeding it once, or release seldom while able to seed for a long time, we chose the first option, hoping to could rely on support from other seeders. This has worked very well so far, thanks everyone!
